Arizona Auditions
Musical Theater Auditions, Acting Auditions, Singing Auditions, and Film Auditions in Arizona:
If you’re looking for Acting Auditions, Film Auditions, Theater Auditions, and Musical Theater Auditions in Arizona, there are many resources that can help speed up your search. I’ve collected some of the best sites below for you to check out.
*A Note on Social Media:
A HUGE amount of Auditions only appear on Social Media. In particular:
Twitter/X; Reddit; Discord; Facebook; Instagram; LinkedIn; etc.
I’ll include a few links to places to check out, but these change rapidly, day-by-day, so do your own research and use search terms like “casting call” “casting” “auditions” “film” “actors”, “acting'“ etc.
Durant
A great website where many local films, plays, and musicals post their casting calls. Sign up for the newsletter and check weekly!
PHX Stages
Best place for local plays and musical theater auditions. Sign up for the weekly newsletter and check every week!
Stage Agent
Great for many markets, including LA and NYC, Stage Agent has a page for Phoenix as well that is regularly updated, and you can sign up for email alerts. This is primarily for Theater and Musical Theater auditions.
Individual Theaters:
Google “Theater Arizona” and look up local theaters. Find their auditions page, or signup for a newsletter if they have one, or find a contact page or form (Email or Phone for the department) and contact them to ask about upcoming auditions. Make sure to check if they are a “youth only (18 and under)” “adult only (18+)” or a theater that casts both youth and adults.
Film Schools:
Google “Film School Arizona” and look up the film programs of local universities and community colleges. Find a contact page or form (Email or Phone for the department) and contact them to ask about casting in student film projects. You can also ask if their plays and musicals are open to auditioners from non-students.
Pay-To-Play Sites:
Pay-To-Play or P2P refers to sites with subscription/membership fees to view/submit auditions. There are many of them, and their policies, fees, and quality are constantly shifting. Many of the most popular and established ones have raised rates and become less voice-actor-friendly in recent years. While there are particulars about each platform, they change enough that I encourage voice actors to do their own research, create a ‘shortlist’ of the ones that they like, and when you’re ready to spend some money, do a 1-month trial membership on a few sites and submit lots of auditions and see what happens. You’ll generally find a platform or two that you like the format and features and feel it works for you. For every platform that exists, there are people who love it and make all their money there, and people who hate it and want it to disappear. Navigating these various opinions can be difficult, so I encourage you to click each link, look around, and when you’re ready, sign up for a trial membership and see what the platform is like. You should be able to book plenty of unpaid and small-scale projects with the links above before worrying too much about paid sites.
