Anime Monologues for Auditions Vol. 8

Monologues give voice actors a safe space to stretch extremes: panic, courage, comedy, tenderness, and fury. Anime auditions reward performers who commit quickly and make vivid choices. Practicing original scenes helps actors build vocal stamina, emotional precision, and character instincts while staying flexible for direction.

Sky Lantern Duel — Akio Narukami, reckless storm duelist

"Sensei, don’t cut the lantern rope yet. I know the wind is screaming, I know my left arm is numb, and yes, I can see the rival clan climbing the tower. That is exactly why we wait. You taught me lightning strikes only when the sky has chosen its target. Well, look at them waving their swords like metal invitations. When I give the signal, release every lantern at once. Their captain will look up, the guards will scatter, and I’ll cross the bridge before thunder finishes laughing. Stop frowning. I’m not gambling with my life. I’m gambling with style, which is completely different and much cooler."

The Library Bites Back — Mina Oribe, nervous spell librarian

"Lord Chancellor, please remove your boot from the restricted circle. Slowly. The books dislike arrogance, and that encyclopedia has already eaten three inspectors this month. You came here demanding forbidden magic, but this library does not answer to titles. It answers to need. And frankly, you need manners. Don’t reach for that shelf. The red volumes scream, the blue ones lie, and the green one behind you is flirting with your shadow. I may stutter during council meetings, but among these pages, I am not small. So apologize to the catalogue, lower your wand, and whisper your question politely."

Miso Soup at Midnight — Kenjiro Sato, grumpy retired warrior

"Put that sword down before you slice the onions wrong. You think vengeance starts with a blade, boy? No. It starts with an empty stomach and a head full of stupid ideas. Sit. Eat. The man you’re chasing has twenty guards, three escape tunnels, and absolutely no respect for dramatic entrances. I know because I built one of the tunnels. Don’t stare at me like that. I had hobbies before retirement. You want my help? Then learn patience. Tonight, we cook. Tomorrow, we plan. After that, if you still want revenge, at least you’ll swing with proper nutrition."

Glass Wings Rising — Arisa Nocturne, elegant cursed ballerina

"Maestro, start the music. The curse feeds on hesitation, and I refuse to let it dine tonight. Yes, the glass is spreading over my arms. Yes, every step may shatter me. But the prince is watching from the balcony, pretending he ordered this performance for victory. Let him. When I leap, the spell circle beneath the stage will crack. When I turn, his mask will fall. And when the final note strikes, everyone will see the monster applauding in royal gloves. Don’t cry for me, Maestro. Keep tempo. A swan does not beg the lake for permission to fly."

Captain of the Rain Frogs — Piko, tiny swamp tactician

"General, you have insulted my hat, my height, and my battalion. One of those offenses is unforgivable. Behold! The rain frogs of Moss Brigade are in position. Yes, they look adorable. That is how we defeat fools. While your knights laughed, my frogs swallowed every key to your armored wagons. While you mocked their little helmets, they rerouted the floodgates. Hear that rumble? That is not thunder. That is consequence wearing webbed feet. Surrender now, and I may return your boots. Continue smirking, and Private Wartsworth gets permission to lick your crown."

No Halo for Me — Rei Kanzaki, bitter fallen angel

"Don’t call me holy, Sister. Holiness left when the cathedral doors locked behind burning villagers. I begged the heavens for one miracle, and they answered with silence polished bright enough to blind fools. So I tore off my halo and made it a blade. Look at your hands. Still clean. Still folded. Mine are shaking, but they moved. Those children are alive because I chose earth over paradise. If that makes me fallen, fine. I fell toward them. Now open the sanctuary gates, or step aside and pray I still remember mercy."

The Candy Shop Siege — Lala Bonbon, bubbly sugar alchemist

"Chief, nobody panics in my shop unless I say so, and I am currently at a gentle simmer. Yes, the gumdrop golems escaped. Yes, the licorice dragon has taken the mayor hostage. But look at the frosting patterns on the floor. They’re not random. They’re marching orders. My recipe book was stolen, and whoever did it forgot I invented half these sweets during exam week with no sleep and too much confidence. Hand me the caramel cannon. We’re saving the mayor, reclaiming my cookbook, and absolutely charging extra for emotional damages."

Iron Prayer Broadcast — Daichi Kurogane, stern mecha commander

"Pilot Seven, keep your eyes on my signal. Not the fire. Not the falling debris. Me. Your reactor is unstable because fear makes your hands fight the machine. Let it breathe with you. That suit is not a coffin unless you surrender inside it. I have buried better pilots than both of us, and every one of them would crawl out of the ground to slap you for quitting now. The evacuation ships need ninety seconds. We will buy them one hundred. Lock shields. Plant your heels. When the enemy charges, we become the wall history remembers."

Pearl Crown Rebellion — Nerina Tidefall, sheltered mermaid princess

"Mother, stop ordering the guards to drag me back. I have spent sixteen years smiling through council feasts while old lords traded our reefs like jewelry. You taught me grace, diplomacy, and which fork to use when lying politely. Thank you. Truly. But the surface miners are poisoning our nursery waters, and your treaties are tied in ribbons while our children cough black bubbles. I am taking the pearl crown to the trench clans. They trust action, not signatures. Don’t look so wounded. I am still your daughter. I am just done being your decoration."

The Train to Dawn — Shiro Tanabe, haunted runaway conductor

"Ticket, please. Don’t pretend you’re alive, friend. Living passengers never board this train with shadows that heavy. Sit by the window. Dawn Station is three stops away, and after that, you choose: return to the body fighting in that hospital bed, or ride past the sun and rest. No, I won’t choose for you. I only drive. I used to run from every goodbye until this engine found me. Now I carry them. So watch the sky brighten, listen to the wheels, and decide what unfinished love is worth waking up for."
