Anime Monologues for Auditions Vol. 6

Monologue practice helps voice actors explore pace, pitch, emotion, and intention in a focused format. Anime-style audition pieces are especially useful because they invite bold stakes, vivid reactions, and quick tonal turns. A strong monologue gives performers space to reveal personality, urgency, humor, conflict, and heart within one clear moment.

The Clockwork Apology — Eren Vale, remorseful genius inventor

"I know, Mira. The smoke is bad. The screaming gears are also bad. But before you throw that wrench at my head, please notice that the city is no longer falling out of the sky. Technically, my invention saved everyone. Yes, it also turned the mayor’s mansion upside down, but that building was arrogant. Look, I wanted to prove I could build something that mattered. I didn’t mean to scare you. When the engine cracked, all I could think was, ‘Mira told me to install a safety valve.’ You were right. Again. Annoyingly. Help me shut this thing down, and I promise the next miracle will include brakes."

The Garden of Blades — Sayuri Ren, serene deadly protector

"Do not step on the lilies, General. My mother planted them before your army learned our valley existed. Every petal here has survived winter, drought, and men who believed beauty could be conquered. You came with banners and horses. I came with a watering can and patience. That is why you are surrounded. Look closely through the mist. Those are not shadows. Those are my sisters, and they have waited all morning for you to make one more foolish command. Lay down your sword, apologize to the soil, and leave. I would rather tend flowers than graves, but I am prepared for both."

Hero Permit Pending — Daisuke Min, overeager rookie hero

"Captain, I filled out the paperwork! Mostly. The parts not covered in monster slime are very professional. Look, I understand I’m not officially allowed to leap from rooftops yet, but the bus was dangling off a bridge, and gravity did not ask for my certification. Did I scream while flying? Yes. Was it heroic? Also yes. The kids are safe, the monster is tied to a traffic light, and I only destroyed one billboard. It was advertising evil noodles, so really, public service. Please don’t suspend me. Put me on probation with dramatic music instead. I’m ready to learn, preferably while saving people."

Embers Beneath the Snow — Kaori Fuyuno, guarded exiled princess

"Stand back, Ryo. I said stand back. You think because I wear plain clothes now, I forgot how to command a room? Those soldiers know my face. They burned my crest, not my blood. For three years, I hid in kitchens, markets, and snowstorms, pretending the crown was nothing but a memory. Then they put chains on your wrists. That was their mistake. I can abandon a palace. I can abandon a name. I will not abandon the one person who saw me without either and stayed. So open the gate, Commander, or I will remind you why my family ruled through fire."

Graveyard Shift at the Moon Café — Namiya, sarcastic ghost waitress

"Table seven wants tea, table nine wants revenge, and you, Detective, want answers. Typical living customer. Always ordering complicated things after midnight. Yes, I saw the killer. No, I’m not telling you for free. Relax, I don’t want money. I’m dead, not boring. I want you to deliver this letter to my little brother. Don’t make that noble face at me; it’s embarrassing. He thinks I vanished because I hated him. I need him to know I stayed near the café because it was the last place we laughed. Do that, and I’ll point you toward the murderer’s very guilty shoes."

Thunder Drum Promise — Bo, gentle mountain guardian

"Little one, stop pulling my beard. I am awake. I heard the hunters before their boots touched the pass. No, you may not fight them with a soup ladle. Brave, yes. Sensible, no. Hide beneath my cloak and listen. The mountain does not roar because it is angry. It roars to warn the valley that love can be loud. Your village fed me when I was wounded. Your grandmother sang to me when storms made my bones ache. Now I repay kindness with thunder. When I strike the drum, cover your ears. When the snow runs uphill, run home. Tell them Bo is keeping his promise."

The Painted Villain — Celeste Noir, theatrical misunderstood rival

"Careful, darling. If you accuse me of betrayal, at least do it with posture. I did not steal the crystal to destroy the academy. I stole it because your precious headmaster was feeding it student memories. Yes, gasp dramatically. I’ll wait. You heroes always arrive late and overdressed in certainty. I played the villain because someone had to get close enough to the truth. The black cape helped. So did the laugh. Was the rose smoke too much? Never. Now choose, golden boy. Arrest me for saving everyone rudely, or help me break that crystal before it whispers your childhood away."

Wings Made of Paper — Junpei Aki, timid determined messenger

"Please don’t shoot the kite, sir. I know it crossed enemy lines. That was the point. There’s a message tied to the tail, and if it doesn’t reach the west tower, the ceasefire fails by sunset. I’m not a soldier. I fold maps. I sharpen pencils. I get dizzy on ladders. But my sister is in that tower, and your cannons are aimed at her window. So laugh if you need to. Call me small. Call this kite childish. Children understand something generals forget: sometimes peace needs a string, a gust of wind, and one terrified boy refusing to let go."

Sunset Over the Arena — Reina Kuroda, proud fallen champion

"Don’t bow to me, Tetsu. Not after you beat me honestly. Stand tall. Let the crowd see your face. I spent five years believing this arena belonged to my fists alone. Every challenger was just another echo under my feet. Then you stepped in shaking, bruised, stubborn as a stray dog, and you listened. That was your secret. You listened to my breath, my rhythm, my anger. I forgot to listen back. Take the belt. No, take it. Before I change my mind and punch you through the trophy table. Tomorrow, I train again. Tonight, the champion deserves applause."

The Star Whale’s Song — Lio, dreamy celestial navigator

"Captain, turn the ship toward the dark. I know the charts say empty space, but the charts have never heard singing. There, beneath the engine hum. You feel it now, don’t you? That’s a star whale, lost beyond the meteor fields. My grandfather chased that song until everyone called him mad. Maybe he was. Maybe I am too. But when the creature cries, the constellations tremble, and I can’t pretend not to hear it. Trust me for one impossible turn. If I’m wrong, you can demote me to polishing windows. If I’m right, we save something ancient enough to remember dawn."
